BimboBin Christmas Pinup

This is generally what happens when an amateur attempts to take on the experts. Uhm, as you can see, it didn't turn out so well... But I had fun, especially the fur! I've been agonizing over it for ages, but I finally found a way where I could replicate it without having to outline the whole thing and bash my head at my computer at how neat it was turning out...

And yes, as you'll notice by now, I love using red too much. Red, black, purple and blue. Occasionally green. I really need to expand my colour range, no?

How Not to Make a Christmas Bauble

Okay, so if you've been noticing, I've entered the BimboBin Christmas Ornament Contest, and the theme I got was "Country". One hell of a toughie... and my editing skills aren't so mad that I can make some insanely awesome bauble. So I decided, why not keep it simple? And made a cupcake... that now looks like a Frankenstein'd patchwork thingymagij. If I can modify it, I promise I will, but I like to think the concept is cute... at least.... -coughs-

Coy in Red

Haven't done one of these in ages, thanks to my addiction to story-writing contests, but now that my tests are around the corner, I'm hoping I can finally get off them for a while until my public exams are over! This is for a contest that Ibelievenangel is hosting - I once used her pose for the September Mod Contest, but this is a fresh one :) Checking back, it's actually pretty similar to another one there (ahck), but there's no time to remake a new one, so here goes nothing...

Design for Nines 2!

So, if you've been keeping track of the announcements, you'll realize that - yes, I'm now in the Top 10 and getting my sorry butt kicked badly with my Arabian-esque dress. If anyone is interested, I actually submitted a second design for the contest, but I reckon that was probably plainer compared to my... belly dancer one. It has a pretty interesting story to it though, but it's not one I'll post here. So, here you go, the two entries I sent in...

And the Arabian dress... if you look at the comments for the first round of voting, you'll notice both Alvena and KawaiiPrincezz pointed out (quite rightly) that it should've been darker and more vibrant. And I did have it in that colour, originally, but I thought "Meh, everyone's going to do a darker colour anyway, so I'll send in a lighter colour..."

I think that registered my doom! >__< But for those who want to see what the darker coloured one looked like originally, you can see so here. Which one looks better, I'll leave it up to you to decide!

18th Century Gowns: Purple

Ever wanted to do a 1700s gown? Uhm, I like looking at pictures (though honestly, panniers are not my style), but for this contest, I had to dress my character in one... so I went the whole hog, refusing to use the Lucrezia dress to my disadvantage. But it's done - after two days and some three hours later! Well, with breaks and whatnot in between, but still.

So, enjoy my 18th century gown, and I apologize for the lack of panniers - I don't dare put my bimbo through having to lug around whalebone hoop-things in a ballroom!

Down in the Rice Paddies

At least, that was what I was trying to have her look like anyway. The pose is by Sapharii for her "Edit My Pose" contest - and I had a lot of fun, I can tell you! It's vaguely Chinese-ish, but since I couldn't find any decent pictures of female rice workers, I just went with my mind and - tadah! Also, I think they work barefeet in there. I think.

Make The Dress - Darn Folds...

So, after I decided microeconomics was going to fry my brain in the long run, I've decided - well, maybe I should take a break. So one thing led to another, and I find myself editing - guess what? Yep, yet another gown. I should really branch out and start doing something new... and maybe use a few more poses, I'm beginning to think I'm over-using Trillyke's pose by now XD

September Mod Contest: Victorian Purples!

Just as promised, here's my entry for the September Mod Contest! It's actually subject to change, after Cakeycake kindly pointed out some bits and pieces - which I agree with, actually! :) But I've a test and some other things to study for... so that'll have to wait, and I hope I'll make it!

Originally wanted to make it more steampunky, but the theme is Victorian and I've already omitted the corset... so, uhhh, not sure how well that'll go down. But a girl can hope, no? Pose by the ridiculously awesome Ibelievenangel, just found her poses and I love how clean they are!

Play Me A Song - Ga-In from "Abracadabra"

So, after what has to be another month long hiatus, I'm back with another - well, "regular" edit, if you will! This time, it's Ga-In from Brown Eyed Girls. If you look at their videos, you'd recognize the outfit from "Abracadabra". Oh, and did I mention I still can't do that pelvic-sway-move that they begin the video in? It looks good, but me... no. Just no.

Also, I've gotten comments that I've made the outfit more modest. Can you spot where? :D

I may or may not be posting my September Mod Contest entry here - well, once it's been critiqued anyway. I keep thinking the face looks a little bizzare... and the outfit not quite Victorian, but hey, it was fun doing it!

Fiery Redheads... and Summer in the City

As you may notice, I've been fairly quiet - and I will be, seeing that my public exams are once again pressing upon me. But that won't stop me from one more story-writing contest before I go! And here she is - Sissel Foxcraft, based off another character I had written up. The dress isn't really anything special - but as you can see, it's my first attempt editing hair and it... uh, turned out kinda floppy. I'll try working on it, but remembering that I just finished this entry three minutes before casting ended... meh!

(Also, MiaChanelle is one hell of a motivator... -coughs-)

August Mod Contest Entry - Yuki-Onna

I actually wanted to do this for the June contest, but my exams interfered... so now I have a chance to enter this edit in this month's contest. Surprisingly, my original concept for this month's theme was a living puppet, but I figured I didn't have the sufficient skill to do it... so here you go, my yuki-onna with her whiteness and slightly blood-stained kimono.

Oh, and if you see the hint of gray, your eyes aren't fooling you - I did shade one side of her face gray. Might've been a tad bit too light though... hmph!

To be entirely honest though, this month's entries are, as always, as stunning as ever, and I already have one or two favourites! I wonder how the results will end up...

Another Gown - Where Blood is Thicker than Water

Yes, in case you've noticed, I do love editing long ball gowns with the regular bimbo pose. There's something about them that is so... I don't know. I'll never be able to wear - or afford - one of those in real life, so I guess I'm just living vicariously!

This was done for the final round of the Cross Academy multi-round contest. The original idea was to have the dress base white - but after a little prompting, here is the end result! Thanks to my lovely and awesome co-conspirator for world domination sisu, Artemis226 for pointing it out to me. Sianne looks lovely in red, doesn't she?

I apologize if you're coming in from the Cross Academy thread - but I just had to put this there. Though I really have to stop doing split dresses/sash down the front style things. Will go back to editing with poses and whatnot after this - single rounds, after all, take up a lot less time comparatively!

A Quick Update

You've probably noticed that I haven't been updating as much - which I apologize for. Usually, when I start a multi-round contest, I tend to neglect the single round areas... and thus, I don't have as much time to edit. But if you do want to check out what I've been doing lately, you can go to the Cross Academy contest that's running at the moment, I've been doing most of my edits there :D

I'll be heading off to Europe for this year's holidays too, so I'll be back in August, ready to edit and all that!

Knit Dresses, Epaulets... and Chains

This one I made for one of those contests which I had been itching to get my hands into... if I could, I'd send brownies to Addidut and give her a lifetime supply of ice cream. But I can't, so I figured I'd pour my heart into making my edits for the contest instead. Or at least, as well as I can handle, so that at least outfit-wise I don't disappoint... much.

Yes, I haven't had time to do a more "large-scale" edit, so now I'm just doing the basic bimbo pose. I found out that I love doing chains - if they're done properly. I'd highlight the ones on the epaulettes (aren't they pretty -is proud of herself-), but it'd be too flashy and there isn't really much room for a 1px chain to "highlight"... hm. Anyhow, I present to you my epaulette'd knit dress!

Short Dresses and Skirts (I)

Inspired by what I saw in an MV - I figured it'd be fun to do, so I just went ahead and - well, here's the final result. I tend to find editing on the normal bimbo pose so much more easier (though not quite as fun) than using a custom pose, partly because I'm still terrible at shading and texture. Uh, it's a jeans-top/baby pastel skirt combo thing, but the end result came out a little different than I had envisioned. But I'm still proud of it - especially the top. The creases were hell to play with.

New Background and Sparkly Dresses

What the title says. I made a spiffy new background - took me a few tries to shrink the size of the file, but I managed without losing out on quality. The brushes are all found on the original Deviant Art, credit to the original artists. They're gorgeous, aren't they? I tend to have a thing for dark colours and white semi-transparent images, so... yeah, there you have it. Not sure about the header though - I was thinking a header might be a bit much on the blog. If you think otherwise, just drop me comment in the comment box, and I'll read through them - and if I have time respond.

And another edit - this one was actually done the same day as I finished my Steampunk Riding Hood, and now that I've discovered the joy of sparkly dresses, I might actually make more to use for future contests in MRs where you need gowns for prom and whatnot -coughWaverlycough- I think this one's a bit on the plain side, so I'll go tweak it some time later - or redo another one, goodness knows I love editing gowns like these. Especially if they're taken straight from Egyptian fashion =D

Steampunk Riding Hood

With his EMR slapped over his shoulder like usual, he looked kind of like a Little Red out to beat the sh*t out of a big bad wolf and cook him for dinner.

- A Fetish for Secrets? by ShadesofImagination, Fanfiction.net

Yes, I was dying to put that line there because - well, this was pretty much what inspired this edit. Of course, that quote referred to a Queen of Hearts with a lolita twist than a Little Red Riding Hood, but it pretty much stuck with me when I got started. It took surprisingly longer than I had anticipated - six to seven hours, I think? Probably had to do with my indecision on my gauntlets, weapons, the basket and probably everything else in the edit, and I'll mod it once I have time. But for now, I present to you a Little Red who's gone steampunk! Oh, and a little tribute to Reno from FFVII -coughfacetattooscough-

Pick me up - read: Tiramisu

I finished this edit yesterday for MM2007's "You Are What You Eat" contest. It can hardly compare to the entries there (my favourites are AcLey and MissCox's), but here it is! She's supposed to be tiramisu - and you can see how that turned out... haha.

So what am I up to now? Uh, a few things, really: writing, listening to music, attempted to edit a pose but failed, so now I'm back to editing gowns and whatnot on the regular bimbo pose. Hey, I gotta prep for another of those highly anticipated contests that are coming up soon ;)

Guess who?

So, yes. After around two weeks of exams, I found this lying around - it was for this MR contest I was doing two weeks back or so, but I'm kind of proud of it, so I thought I'd post it here. Cookies for those who can guess where the outfit came from! The theme for that round was Halloween... and so, being the otaku I am, I put the two together and voila! Here she was.

Yes, I know exactly which game this comes from, and judging by all the reviews the game got, it was... mediocre, at best, and at worst... uh, yeah. But there's no denying how pretty the graphics were - or how badass this particular character was! Though I was miffed at what she ended up as at the end of the game. Well, the sequel to this game was announced only yesterday at the E3 convention for video games, so I'm hoping that the plot improves somewhat... Come on, Square Enix, don't let me down! And you still owe me the FFVII port that you've been talking about for ages!

Hello world... Well, sort of.

I think it's been around ages since I've ever used Blogger for blogs, but considering I want to modify my layouts more fully after my exams are finished, I figured I might as well have two accounts - one on Wordpress (that's Azureology, though it's fairly bare) for my personal stuff and everything else, and this one for my edits on Miss Bimbo - if I ever remember to post on it :D

So welcome to my little playground, where you'll see all that I've been doing on Miss Bimbo. Usually I'll put MB clothes up here, and once in a while, my edit for an occasional SR contest that I like to enter when I'm feeling a tad bit bored. This is sort of my experimenting ground, so feel free to wander here and watch my crazy mind unfold!

But for now, it's fairly bare - let me just tackle my Geography and my Literature to get them out of the way...
