Saying Goodbye

So. It's been a few years since I last updated this blog, for those who... follow. Whoever's left. And you'll probably notice, it's been quiet. For several reasons.

For one, Chris "Sweetasnuts" Evans has finally done the impossible. Or entirely possible, which I and so many others called the moment he returned from his endeavours in India and decided he needed another money-spinner. He's run Miss Bimbo to the ground and ruined it entirely, not to mention, created a Frankenstein nightmare in its place. The name of it is Bimbolands.

I'm not even going to give him the courtesy of linking it here. If you want to know what it's like, feel free to go and check it out. Warning though: you need a Facebook account, and he embeds a little data-gathering app into your FB page to harvest and gather all the information about you, your lifestyle, your friends. Do you want a website like that to gather your information? Thought so.

It's heartbreaking, really. I joined Miss Bimbo in my early teens, and made several friends on there. A lot of them I still keep in touch with. It was where I learned to edit, and honed my writing skills. It's with great regret and sadness I move on, but customers vote with their feet, and I don't feel comfortable supporting anything Chris Evans does, given his track record.

This blog is going to stay up, for me mostly as a reminder of the happier days, and for others... I don't know. I never truly felt accepted on the Miss Bimbo community, save for the friends I made via the story-writing contests, and for that, I am entirely grateful for their presence and their company. But if you stumble upon this, and want to know why this stopped updating entirely... well, here you go. If you want to find me, I'm on My Candy Love, Like a Fashionista, and several other far better sites that are worth my time.

Thank you for the memories. And Chris Evans? I wish you stayed running your charity endeavours, your cafe, and kept your grubby hands away from that site.

Dropping in for a bit?

Turns out, people still look at this blog, which thoroughly astonishes me because a) I'm not actually that good at editing, and b) I left Miss Bimbo a very, very long time ago. For those who are still on the site, I salute you - I finally gave up on the trainwreck that Christopher Robert Evans single-handedly created, and moved on to far greener pastures.

He's too busy making his lovely little bakery now. To even care that his main money-spinner Miss Bimbo is now essentially dying. I don't know. I haven't been on, and I have no intention of going back at all to see what the situation is.

However, you'd think that this marks the end of my editing career. Uh, as it turns out, no. I've migrated to Tumblr, to My Candy Love where I moderate, to Skype, to The Secret World (and soon to the Repopulation) - and to the Story Writing Forums a few of us from the storywriting multi-round contests set up.  Initially, it was meant to be a place for us to host votes and decide who was the best story-writing host, but ever since MB's fate, it's become my new home to join contests and catch up with whoever's there.

So today I'll be posting something I made recently - an entry for Boys Over Flowers 4. The exact outfit in question is the Courtesan's outfit from Assassin's creed (the last one with the fan). Took me a while, but - well, I'm glad my editing skills haven't gotten that bad. Yet. Enjoy? Feedback?

All I do know is, I think my journey with Miss Bimbo ends here. At least, with the site itself. Maybe things will look better and I'll go back. Who knows? Four years is an awfully long time to spend with a site.

Upcoming World Cultures Theme

I'm still here! Yes I am! :D Just that my public exams are over and maybe I can actually get on with focusing now...

I've taken a World Cultures theme a little while back, the Chinese section. I mean, I'm certainly no Yuya_ly and I certainly won't be able to match the outfit she did, but I'll do my best to make it the way I see it wherever I go. Warning though - it contains copious amounts of oriental collars. As in, copious amounts.

In any case, hopefully you'll stick around to take a look at what I'll be showing. No previews, sorry. Not yet, at least.

The Jury's In!

Well, the results of the Top 20 were put in today - by some miracle, one of them managed to make it! And yes, I am surprised, given that I made those two... right bang smack in the middle of my examinations :P But never mind, I'm pretty happy about one of them being in.

So, one's the semi-steampunkish-gone-wrong design that's up there for votes, and the other was... simpler. Like an oriental mage robe of some sort. So here I am, posting them both up, and you can form your own opinions about them.

... I think you can tell which is which, no? Love them? Hate them? Let me know, if you feel so inclined! :)

Sent my D49 outfits (April) off!

Whoop! Sent my outfits off, will see if I manage to even get into the Top 20. I've already seen some ridiculously gorgeous outfits in the Critique thread on Miss Bimbo, so... eep, feeling really nervous, it's like all the good editors are coming out from all corners of the forum!

Whatever happens, I'll post my outfits when the results are up, so you can all take a gander and... determine for yourselves.

A Quick Message

As you'll probably notice if you've been following my blog, I've been on hiatus from editing in Miss Bimbo (as you can tell - evidently), mainly due to my public exams that I'm going through at the moment, as well as a certain admin who likes to think that his sense of humour is oh-so-funny and his plots are the best thing since sliced bread. Well, E+ for effort, see me after class.

Anyhow, I'll be back full time two weeks later, but even then there's no guarantees! Maybe I'll go brush up on some editing skills and whatnot. Oh, and story writing. I miss my story-writing very very much. I've also taken up a fondness for post-apocalyptic worlds and zombie fighting. And blowing their minds. Literally. -coughs-

However, on the same note, I am entering this time's Design for Nine's again, and my outfits are (nearly) done, so keep an eye out for that later on when I post them here! I'm still figuring out what I'm missing and sharpening up the colours so that they don't look too dull on older screens - that's a problem I've been finding with my work lately, so with any luck I'll be able to make them look fresher and brighter.

Design for Nine's 3 Entry

Aaand I'm back! Editing still runs around in my blood like manic - it's a hard habit to kick, but one I thoroughly indulge in.

Anyhow - this year has another Design for Nine's, so I submitted two dresses: one from Summer in the City, and the other brand new original one taken from more romantic and classic inspirations. With a pair of gloves to go with it! But honestly, some entries are to die for - not to mention, one pool has two of my favourite designs in it. Decisions, decisions...

And the Summer in the City outfit... trust me, it looked better when I had jewelry and stuff on it. But as a dress alone, it's a tad bit plain.

BimboBin Christmas Pinup

This is generally what happens when an amateur attempts to take on the experts. Uhm, as you can see, it didn't turn out so well... But I had fun, especially the fur! I've been agonizing over it for ages, but I finally found a way where I could replicate it without having to outline the whole thing and bash my head at my computer at how neat it was turning out...

And yes, as you'll notice by now, I love using red too much. Red, black, purple and blue. Occasionally green. I really need to expand my colour range, no?

How Not to Make a Christmas Bauble

Okay, so if you've been noticing, I've entered the BimboBin Christmas Ornament Contest, and the theme I got was "Country". One hell of a toughie... and my editing skills aren't so mad that I can make some insanely awesome bauble. So I decided, why not keep it simple? And made a cupcake... that now looks like a Frankenstein'd patchwork thingymagij. If I can modify it, I promise I will, but I like to think the concept is cute... at least.... -coughs-

Coy in Red

Haven't done one of these in ages, thanks to my addiction to story-writing contests, but now that my tests are around the corner, I'm hoping I can finally get off them for a while until my public exams are over! This is for a contest that Ibelievenangel is hosting - I once used her pose for the September Mod Contest, but this is a fresh one :) Checking back, it's actually pretty similar to another one there (ahck), but there's no time to remake a new one, so here goes nothing...

Design for Nines 2!

So, if you've been keeping track of the announcements, you'll realize that - yes, I'm now in the Top 10 and getting my sorry butt kicked badly with my Arabian-esque dress. If anyone is interested, I actually submitted a second design for the contest, but I reckon that was probably plainer compared to my... belly dancer one. It has a pretty interesting story to it though, but it's not one I'll post here. So, here you go, the two entries I sent in...

And the Arabian dress... if you look at the comments for the first round of voting, you'll notice both Alvena and KawaiiPrincezz pointed out (quite rightly) that it should've been darker and more vibrant. And I did have it in that colour, originally, but I thought "Meh, everyone's going to do a darker colour anyway, so I'll send in a lighter colour..."

I think that registered my doom! >__< But for those who want to see what the darker coloured one looked like originally, you can see so here. Which one looks better, I'll leave it up to you to decide!

18th Century Gowns: Purple

Ever wanted to do a 1700s gown? Uhm, I like looking at pictures (though honestly, panniers are not my style), but for this contest, I had to dress my character in one... so I went the whole hog, refusing to use the Lucrezia dress to my disadvantage. But it's done - after two days and some three hours later! Well, with breaks and whatnot in between, but still.

So, enjoy my 18th century gown, and I apologize for the lack of panniers - I don't dare put my bimbo through having to lug around whalebone hoop-things in a ballroom!

Down in the Rice Paddies

At least, that was what I was trying to have her look like anyway. The pose is by Sapharii for her "Edit My Pose" contest - and I had a lot of fun, I can tell you! It's vaguely Chinese-ish, but since I couldn't find any decent pictures of female rice workers, I just went with my mind and - tadah! Also, I think they work barefeet in there. I think.

Make The Dress - Darn Folds...

So, after I decided microeconomics was going to fry my brain in the long run, I've decided - well, maybe I should take a break. So one thing led to another, and I find myself editing - guess what? Yep, yet another gown. I should really branch out and start doing something new... and maybe use a few more poses, I'm beginning to think I'm over-using Trillyke's pose by now XD

September Mod Contest: Victorian Purples!

Just as promised, here's my entry for the September Mod Contest! It's actually subject to change, after Cakeycake kindly pointed out some bits and pieces - which I agree with, actually! :) But I've a test and some other things to study for... so that'll have to wait, and I hope I'll make it!

Originally wanted to make it more steampunky, but the theme is Victorian and I've already omitted the corset... so, uhhh, not sure how well that'll go down. But a girl can hope, no? Pose by the ridiculously awesome Ibelievenangel, just found her poses and I love how clean they are!

Play Me A Song - Ga-In from "Abracadabra"

So, after what has to be another month long hiatus, I'm back with another - well, "regular" edit, if you will! This time, it's Ga-In from Brown Eyed Girls. If you look at their videos, you'd recognize the outfit from "Abracadabra". Oh, and did I mention I still can't do that pelvic-sway-move that they begin the video in? It looks good, but me... no. Just no.

Also, I've gotten comments that I've made the outfit more modest. Can you spot where? :D

I may or may not be posting my September Mod Contest entry here - well, once it's been critiqued anyway. I keep thinking the face looks a little bizzare... and the outfit not quite Victorian, but hey, it was fun doing it!

Fiery Redheads... and Summer in the City

As you may notice, I've been fairly quiet - and I will be, seeing that my public exams are once again pressing upon me. But that won't stop me from one more story-writing contest before I go! And here she is - Sissel Foxcraft, based off another character I had written up. The dress isn't really anything special - but as you can see, it's my first attempt editing hair and it... uh, turned out kinda floppy. I'll try working on it, but remembering that I just finished this entry three minutes before casting ended... meh!

(Also, MiaChanelle is one hell of a motivator... -coughs-)

August Mod Contest Entry - Yuki-Onna

I actually wanted to do this for the June contest, but my exams interfered... so now I have a chance to enter this edit in this month's contest. Surprisingly, my original concept for this month's theme was a living puppet, but I figured I didn't have the sufficient skill to do it... so here you go, my yuki-onna with her whiteness and slightly blood-stained kimono.

Oh, and if you see the hint of gray, your eyes aren't fooling you - I did shade one side of her face gray. Might've been a tad bit too light though... hmph!

To be entirely honest though, this month's entries are, as always, as stunning as ever, and I already have one or two favourites! I wonder how the results will end up...

Another Gown - Where Blood is Thicker than Water

Yes, in case you've noticed, I do love editing long ball gowns with the regular bimbo pose. There's something about them that is so... I don't know. I'll never be able to wear - or afford - one of those in real life, so I guess I'm just living vicariously!

This was done for the final round of the Cross Academy multi-round contest. The original idea was to have the dress base white - but after a little prompting, here is the end result! Thanks to my lovely and awesome co-conspirator for world domination sisu, Artemis226 for pointing it out to me. Sianne looks lovely in red, doesn't she?

I apologize if you're coming in from the Cross Academy thread - but I just had to put this there. Though I really have to stop doing split dresses/sash down the front style things. Will go back to editing with poses and whatnot after this - single rounds, after all, take up a lot less time comparatively!

A Quick Update

You've probably noticed that I haven't been updating as much - which I apologize for. Usually, when I start a multi-round contest, I tend to neglect the single round areas... and thus, I don't have as much time to edit. But if you do want to check out what I've been doing lately, you can go to the Cross Academy contest that's running at the moment, I've been doing most of my edits there :D

I'll be heading off to Europe for this year's holidays too, so I'll be back in August, ready to edit and all that!
